John John Florence of Oahu, Hawaii (pictured) advanced into Round 4 of the VANS World Cup of Surfing at Sunset Beach, North Shore, Oahu, Hawaii today 3 December 2012. Florence, current ASP World No.4 and VANS Triple Crown of Surfing defending Champion posted the highest heat total of the event to date, a 17.80 heat total (out of a possible 20.00). His two high scoring rides, 8.93 and 8.87 (both out of a possible 10.00) earned him first place over fellow Hawaiians Billy Kemper, Fred Patacchia and his younger brother Nathan Florence. The result advances Florence into Round 4 when competitoin resumes.

Alejo Muniz of Brasil (pictured) advanced into Round 4 of the VANS World Cup of Surfing at Sunset Beach, North Shore, Oahu, Hawaii today 3 December 2012. In Round 3 Muniz posted a heat total of 15.80 points (out of a possible 20.00) which included two high scoring rides of 8.07 & 7.73 (both out of a possible 10.00) to take the heat win. Defeating Tanner Gudauskas (USA), Raoni Monteiro (BRA) and Dusty Payne (HAW), Muniz advances into Round 4 when competition resumes.
